Sheffield Concord 1 vs. Sheffield Concord 2

Very important game of the season! Sophie Arundale back from injury played well at WD. Jenny and Lucy in defence played well but found it harder when tall GS (Caroline) was put in. Shooters again played well, Rachael scoring some long range shots.

Final quarter Concord 2 pulled back, scoring 3 in a row. Overall very nice game with the final score 51-36.

Sheffield Concord 1 vs. Sheffield Open

Very tight game. Throughout the first ¾’s the lead changed often. Both teams’ shooters on target and very little separated the teams. Centre court fighting to keep possession and try to take the lead.

Meagan on 4th quarter and Concord keep their heads and start to pull away to win 38-32.

6th October 2009

Sheffield Concord 1 vs. Sheffield Caribbean

A9pm game and Concord started steadily. Amy Wilson linked well with attack and Becca and Rachael start building a lead. Lucy and Vicky in defence improve as the game goes on.

Final quarter ease off as people start to tire due to the time. Again another convincing win but room for improvement 45-28.

22nd September 2009

Sheffield Concord 1 vs. Sheffield Stormers 2

First game of the season. Started well, a few over ambitious balls to goal shooter Becca. Most balls into the circle converted into goals so quickly built up a substantial lead over the young Stormers team. Jo flying around as usual making interceptions all over court and WA supporting well with accurate feeds to the circle.

Half time score- 25-4. Jordan and Maegan on for Cathy and Rachael. Fitted in perfectly with the team and work especially well together. Lucy making vital interceptions even though her shooter is a head bigger than her.

Final quarter Stormers try to fight back but can’t match the Concord team. Final score 43-14, good start to the season.
