The Club was founded by Gordon Padley MBE in 1974 at Concord Sports Club where it took its name. We are South Yorkshire’s oldest and one of most successful clubs. Sheffield Concord Netball Club was awarded Gold Caps Accreditation in April 2007 and is an affiliated member of England Netball (ID number 2782)
The Club was originally set up for senior netball players but has developed a very strong junior section and fields competitive netball teams at all levels from Y2 upwards.
All Sheffield Concord age groups now train on Thursday evenings at the English Institute of Sport , Coleridge Road, Attercliffe, Sheffield. School years 2-6 from 5-6pm and Years 7,8,9,10,and 11 from 6-9pm (finish time does vary according to age). Seniors (Post 16 ) train from 8-10pm”.
As a club, we have 5 senior teams competing in the South Yorkshire League, currently, our first team and second team are playing in the championship, both our third and fourth team are in division 1 and our fifth team play in division 3.
NET4ALL
This section of the club is for girls aged 11-18 and women with Special Educational/Additional Needs or Intellectual Impairments who would like to play netball. There is no need for any previous experience, all abilities are welcome. Our aim is to help the players to feel inspired and empowered to take part in group activity, be included within the team, learn confidence and get healthy and active.
Sheffield Concord Net4All section, with coaching led by Helen Thorneloe and Jill Newbolt, will be running monthly on a Wednesday at the EIS from 6-8pm.
