News report:
Net4All Fundraising Champions
Two members of the expanding Net4All family have dedicated their time to support two amazing causes that are close to their hearts.
Niamh Johnson aged 15, who has been attending Net4All sessions since 2019 arranged a fund raising event to support the amazing work of Rotherham Hospice. Niamh decided that she would cut off her long, beautiful ponytail – an incredible 22inches – (donated to the Princess Trust) in exchange for a donation to the hospice and she raised an amazing £850!! It was particularly challenging for Niamh as she had not been able to go to the hairdressers before as the noise was such a difficult thing to handle.
Kirsty Atkinson aged 31, has been a member of Net4All as player/coach for 4 years – she loves netball so much that she is also learning how to be an umpire!! Kirsty and her Mum both have pen pals who live in Uganda and Kirsty decided to use some of her personal allowance to buy netball dresses, bibs and balls for a netball club. “I am looking forward to seeing the children get their new Netball kit,” said Kirsty “I hope it helps them to play with big smiles on their faces!”
The girls belong to Net4All, a section of Sheffield Concord Netball Club which enables young people aged 11-18 and women with special Educational/Additional Needs or Intellectual Impairments who would like to play netball – there is no need for any previous experience, all abilities are welcome. There will be a taster day for all South Yorkshire Schools on 11th December held at EIS Sheffield from 10.00am -2.00pm. Anyone can also find information on the club website www.sheffieldconcordnetball.co.uk and the next monthly Net4All club is Wednesday 15 November 5.45pm EIS.
